We did our first flight without Papi and we did very well..thanks to snacks, toys, and portable DVD players..oh, and those lovely, red-eye night flights.
A LITTLE MUSHY STUFF:
Our visit was filled with an extraordinary amount of fun and love. Grandma Guerrero's birthday, Easter celebrations, Children's Festival, friends, family, neighbors, planes, trains, and automobiles. If we could make the days longer and the nights shorter just so we could spend more time with our loved ones...then we would be living large. Moving away has brought a whole new appreciation for our home away from home.
We have always had the tendency to celebrate most events/holidays for extended time because well, we just have more fun doing it our way. Benjamin never complains and well, the weather could not have been more cooperative. What amazing weather this time of year in Houston. And, Benja was in gummy candy land.
GRANDMA GUERRERO'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION:
Lilly and Benjamin blowing out the cake for Grandma.
Getting a photo with the grandparents is no easy task with active toddlers but we did it!
EASTER EGG HUNT AT PROCTOR PLAZA:
The first Easter celebration/tradition started at Proctor Park Plaza. Yep, this is Benjamin's 2nd time to attend this wonderful neighborhood gathering and he enjoyed every minute of it. And, what made it extra special is the fact that he got to spend it with his cousin Lillian AND his buddy Taylar.
Wagon squeeze. Can you squeeze anymore cuteness in a wagon?
Before the chase. Eggs patiently waiting the hands of very eager children.
He was more about the details inside the egg rather than finding them.
Investigating the goodies.
And, to answer the previous question about squeezing more cuteness in a wagon...YES, it is possible to have more adorableness...
EASTER AT GRANDPA/GRANDMA GUERRERO'S HOUSE:
Benjamin and Lillian had a blast hunting eggs at their Grandpa and Grandma's house this year.
Who me?
Found it!
Judging from this photo, it's hard to tell who had the most fun.
EASTER EGG HUNT AT "AUNT" JANIS' HOUSE:
And, last but not least...Benjamin hunted eggs at Aunt Janis' house and well, how many kids can honestly say they found an egg inside of a pink flamingo?
The goods.
LATE NITE PIE WITH FRIENDS:
Pizza and playground fun with Kayla and Phillip at Late Nite Pie.
Benjamin wants "that" piece.
Kayla digging into a slice of pizza.
BEWARE OF TOO MANY BOOKS:
This is what happens when one overdoses on books.
CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL:
A plus, living in the Heights is that we live 5-10 minutes away from most places so getting up and going to the Children's Festival is an easy get away. Little B. rode his first rickety, roller coaster, painted his very own tile, petted some very tame animals, and well, some very exotic reptiles...This boy has NO fear.
Sponge Bob roller coaster.
He enjoyed painting his tile. He is painting a "truck".
Rabbit love.
Little snake.
And, um, yeah, a rather LARGE snake.
TRAIN MANIA:
A vintage train pulled through the Amtrak station near our home...so, Papi loaded up the little guy and took him to see a real live "toy".
Benjamin seems to think that he can see a train up close and in person at any time now.
Our time is almost up in Houston and soon we will be heading back to our "second" home in Brazil. We are very grateful for the warm homecoming from our friends, families, and neighbors in Houston.
Till next time!
