A White Christmas, A Blue Moon, and a Red Scooter

What makes this year so special? A New Year's Eve Blue Moon?

Nah...it's not the moon. It's our favorite little person. Without him, we would not be saying words like "fishy", "eat your breakfast", "go to bed"...to name a few. We are becoming our own parents slowly but surely.

NEW YEAR'S EVE:

We did the annual "tradition" of going to the Children Museum's Noon Countdown. Little B. was curious why all the commotion was taking place - but he enjoyed the live band, the shiny ball on a pole, and the general excitement in the air. He wanted the ball to drop more than once. Waiting for the ball drop...

Just a "small" snippet of the crowd.

And, naturally - from us to you - may 2010 bring happiness, newness, and love. Happy New Year!

Somehow, an entire year flashed before our eyes. Where did 2009 go? And, who is this little boy? Our toddler is gradually turning into a boy..at times, selfishly, it is sort of a relief when he still "toddles" because it is the last connection to being our "baby". This upcoming year will be big changes: Saying goodbye to diapers and crib.

It was a year of waiting, wondering, learning, and growing. Benjamin learned all the right buttons to make people swoon, to test Papi and Mami's patience, to find out that the world really is his oyster. It's up to us to show him the oyster, guide him, and allow for him to handle his oyster however he sees fit (within reason).

Before Christmas, Benjamin released some much needed energy at Donovan Park. He hung out with his buddies, Phillip and Landon.

CHRISTMAS:
Benja had three Christmases this year. He charmed his grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles. What a thrilling experience to have so much fun and love all rolled up in one week.

To start - Benjamin made Santa cookies and was quite thrilled to dump, mix, and fling flour in every direction. He was VERY disappointed in the morning when he saw the cookie half eaten and the milk missing. He asked over and over, what happened to the cookie.

Somebody got a scooter this year from Santa - but he does not like the required knee pad protection. The helmet is fun, but the knee pads are "too tight".

Admiring the scooter.

Peeling that crinkly paper off for the exciting reveal.

A WHITE Christmas in Dallas!

We got snow for the second time in two months in Texas. This time in Dallas while visiting Grandma and Grandpa Gonzalez.

Seriously, this is a lot of snow for Texas (or perhaps a Houstonian?).

Cousin Nicholas handing little B. a snowball. Judging from this photo, it is as if he is handing Ben the world.

Group photo...note to self - check our little guy's hat before photo shoot.

A FIERY Christmas in Friendswood.

As tradition may have it - the guitar was brought out and the little ones got to join in this year.

The unwrapping of gifts seemed to be a speed contest.
Grandma Guerrero showing Benjamin the goods.

Favorite comments of the past couple of weeks:

"My tongue is sticky"

"I want that boot" (stocking)

"Tuck my feet in harder"

So, here we go again - officially saying goodbye to 2009 and with a warm welcome we say hello to 2010.
