Silence - often this is a "sound" that is coveted...however, when Benjamin is quiet -this is a strong signal that he is doing something he isn't supposed to be doing. Like playing in the garbage, eating paper, pulling down the oven door, pulling things off tables...
Benjamin's personality has really developed into a stubborn, persistent, dedicated little boy. If he sees what he wants - he thinks it is his. If we hide something from him - he is no dummy - he pursues it. Gone are the days when we could distract him. He knows better.
It's that time of year again - Halloween is fast approaching. Benjamin has been having a ball playing with the scary and not so scary props. He had some reservations in the beginning but once he realized that the decor was not real - he has had fun carrying around the holiday fun.
Benjamin attended a birthday party of his friends Miles and Kai. He had fun running around the park (Proctor Plaza) and eating cheese, crackers, and strawberries. He wanted nothing to do with the cake.
Ben's favorite activity was sliding. We just could not decide which photo was best so you all get to see all the photos. Look at that smile!
The party ended and evidently we wore out our little guy because he took a three-hour power nap.
Speaking of napping, this moment is priceless. Benjamin and Lillian passed out after a Chinese food lunch.
Benjamin's favorite word is hot. Everything is hot. The grill, the oven, lights, his food - you name it. He loves that word.
I know we have mentioned this before but Goodnight Moon is the best book ever. Benjamin really cannot get enough of it. He will carry the book around and hand it to us so that we will read it to him. It is his favorite nap and bedtime routine. If Benjamin were ever to wake us up in the middle of the night to read - we would come running. Okay, not really running...but how can one really refuse to read to a child? It's the best feeling to know your child wants to read.
