The Ultimate Birthday Party and Mischievous Ways

Well, words cannot convey how grateful we are for everyone who made Benjamin's birthday such a successful party. Benjamin felt truly loved and cannot thank everyone enough who made his day so special. Well, at least we KNOW that is what he would say if he had the vocabulary.

We attempted another round with cake and ice cream but once again Benjamin had no interest. However, he could have been a bit perplexed by the Happy Birthday song followed up with an encore acoustic guitar version led by his grandpa Guerrero.

Being that Benjamin is related to us - we are sure his sweet tooth will emerge in due time - for now - he just favors fruits.

The cake was beautiful, the company was perfect, and the food was plentiful. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Benjamin's heart is truly full of love.

Note to self: Next time do the pinata first so that guests haven't left before the throw down. Iris and Benjamin had a great time pulling the strings to let the candy loose. However, it was a close fight for the goodies between Chris and Dan.

The latest Benjamin idiosyncrasies/mischievous ways:

He likes to grab all the clothes in the laundry basket and throw them out of the basket.

He likes to raise his arm - he has almost mastered the wave - but not quite.

He is walking ever so cutely with the balance of an amateur walker. He likes to raise his arms above his head to guide with the whole balance act. He is officially a toddler (sniff, sniff) Where did our baby go?

Gone are the days when he was naive to object permanence. He knows when we take those things away from him that he isn't supposed to handle. Thus sparking a fussy Benjamin. The Rolling Stones song, "You can't always get what you want" spirals in our heads on a regular loop.

Still dealing with toilet battle - now he knows how to flush the toilet. Sigh.
