Benjamin’s First Gonzalez Family Reunion!

Look at his cute little shirt:

How did he do? He was a hit and blended in well with la familia. He was admired for his blonde-ish locks and his cute toothy smile. He was passed around from family member to family member and enjoyed hanging out with everyone. Next reunion in 2010, he will be joining the other cousins as he walks and talks.

Hanging with his cousins Nick, Hunter, and his Aunt Kim...

Lovin' on his cousin Keith:

Lovin' on his abuelita Gonzalez:

Benjamin's first children's menu with his very own set of crayons. Waxy color in the mouth – what a treat! Also, Mami must note - it was a real treat to sit next to him.

Our little guy is getting to the point where he likes to twist and turn, look and stare, grab and cling, screech and smile. He still loves to be held but it seems to be on his terms more or less.

Shopping has become more of an event. Ben likes to grab the items in the cart, chew on them, and then throw them on the floor. Sigh.

We play toilet seat war often - when we "forget" to close the bathroom door. Those childproof locks on our cabinets only work so well. Our child is VERY determined to grab anything he can squeeze through the inch opening. Benjamin has also started to become "unhappy" when things don't go his way. He has discovered that things don't always happen the way he wants them to happen (for example - the toilet seat war we have on a regular basis). We often find items in the garbage cans that do not belong - like prescription medicine - doh!

His conversations continue to sound like jibber, jabber but it sounds like sweet music to our ears.

Is he walking yet? Almost - he takes several unassisted steps at a time, but crawling seems to be the preferred method of transportation this week.

Till next week. Much love to you all.
