Chasing Benjamin is our usual game. "No", "get away", "don't touch that" are just some of the common phrases in our world. These comments are followed by big toothy smiles and perplexed looks.
Hard to believe but another month has passed. Only one more month till he reaches his milestone, 1 year mark. Crazy.
Benjamin spent his 11 month "birthday" eating blackberries and causing his usual trouble - mostly trying to discover everything he isn't supposed to find.
A few examples of trouble are:
1. Toilet paper - he loves to unroll the tubes of paper. Mom not so much.
2. Gravity - the common maneuver is to extend arm out, stare at parent, and drop food, sippy cup, toy, or whatever may be in his hand at the moment. Hardwood floors make very loud kablaam noises. Even louder when it is before 9:00 a.m.
3. Drawers, cabinets are his favorite. He likes to open them and hide objects in them. Hopefully, food will not be a hidden treasure overlooked by parents.
4. Trash cans - our monkey likes to dig for dirty treasures when parents are not looking. This takes but a split second when Mom/Papi look away for 30 seconds. "No" follows this act and trash can remains on top of shelf for the remainder of his infant life.
5. Cords, FULL cups of water, and unread magazines are fun sport for Benjamin. Again, not so much for the parents.
On to other things...We took Benjamin to downtown Houston's new park, Discovey Green. They have an awesome water section where kids can play through water as it squirts from all directions. If only they had this when we were kids....Ben loved getting wet and "grabbing" the water.
Our little monkey is pushing the walker around like there is no such thing as a speed limit. If only we could convert and store his energy for household utilities.
Till next week!
