B’s favorite things to do these days:
We have finally left the destruction phase of his life and have entered the building/creative phase: Legos, play-doh, and painting. He cannot get enough of them.
Our little artist’s masterpieces:
Our last commentary on Macaé and on moving:
We made sure Benjamin had a sense of normal routine during the chaos of moving. We squeezed another day of playing in the sand and in the pool.
Last day at the Macaé Beach:
Last dip in the pool in Macaé:
On Moving:
We hope to not see one of these brown square, rectangle “things” for a long while.
No matter what is going on around him, he makes sure he has time for fun.
How B. handled the move:
The movers who packed and moved our stuff with not a thing broken or missing.
Our last dinner ended up being at a restaurant called Finalmente (which translates to “finally”).
We found the title fitting to our last evening in Macaé. The restaurant is quaint and serves tasty crepes.
Benjamin staring in awe at a lava lamp and a rotary telephone. "What is that, Papi?"
In our new home:
We moved to the 20th floor of our building. We had a piece of furniture that would not make it’s way up the elevator because it was too big. The armoire had to be pulled up to our condominium through our balcony. It took ten men to manually pull it up with ropes. What an interesting day this adventure made.
Looking down at the big lump of heavy.
There were 8 other men upstairs (obviously, not shown) pulling this huge chunk of wood into our home.
Speaking of elevators. Mami and Benjamin had an incident with our building elevator. We had just returned from a grocery store trip and Mami turned around to get the groceries and the elevator door closed. WITH. BENJAMIN. IN. IT. He was screaming, Mami was screaming. Benjamin rode 20 floors down to the lobby and was rescued by the maintenance man who kindly returned him to his frantic mother. Lots of morals to be had from the story, but we are glad to report everyone recovered from the incident and rest assured: this will not happen again.
We live in walking distance to a mall. This could prove very dangerous for our wallets if we are not careful. ;) It has Benjamin’s favorite frozen yogurt store and some very tasty restaurants.
An interesting children's clothing store:
Our child running into the toy store. Rest assured it is not difficult to tell our child “no” to toys because honestly the toys are extremely expensive due to high import taxes. It is an adventure for all of us to explore the store because we are looking at prices and Benjamin is enamored by the possibilities.
We will share photos of our new home once order has been obtained. ;)
Till next time.
