Benjamin's "Aunt" Jill made a wonderful fire truck cake which almost didn't make it's destination (due to a curious hand on the elevator).
We think the party was a huge success because the pizza and cake were eaten and no meltdowns occurred.
Did Benjamin understand what was going on this year? Yes, more so than last year. Did he "get" that it was "his" birthday. Perhaps. Was he confused? Possibly. He was very patient for the birthday song and he loved blowing out the candles. He ate cake this year as opposed to last year's I-don't-want-cake-give-me-grapes attitude.

Most importantly - we must not forget to thank those who made Benjamin "possible". Los Abuelos/Grandparents!
We suppose the only "hiccup" of the event could be that the video camera wasn't on when we sang Happy Birthday...but it's funny. Now, we can talk about that time...remember when the record button wasn't pushed? Parenting...what a thrill with lots of things to remember.
What a good week for our little monkey. Now to the next chapter: living through the terrible or terrific 2's. This we will discuss in another blog entry. So much to say.
