Benjamin had his 2-year wellness exam last week. He is finally catching up with his height and weight. After being in the 25 percentile for most of his first 2-years (birth weight the off-the-charts exception) he has nudged himself to the 50 percentile. Our cute little arm weight now weighs 28 pounds!
Getting Measured
Any anxiety was resolved with a lollipop (or two).
Our 4th of July weekend was busy with swimming and a birthday party. With regard to swimming: Little B. got to do what he loves to do the most: dunk his head under the water and search for toys.
As far as fireworks, we saw them on our drive home and Benjamin was quiet with awe from the backseat. He was completely enthralled by the lights in the sky. He asked for "mas" when they were over.
Benjamin's buddy Jacob had a birthday party at Gymboree. Ben. was one of the younger kids in the crowd but he had a blast. He is not much for group activities but loved to explore on his own. He had conflicted feelings about being tossed in a parachute but would scream for more when we made him wait his turn.
Favorite things to do:
Hide and seek. Benjamin loves to go under our sheets in our bed and hide. He squeals until we find him. He wants to do it again and again.
Hard lesson learned for Mami: Don't play hide and seek with monkey after dinner. Uncontrollable giggling led to a very large mess to clean.
