Ho Ho Ho

Santa came by our home this year because we ALL were nice this year. ;)

Christmas was simple in our home this year - just the way we like it. We woke up with our grumpy little guy trying to shake his morning slumber. Trying to convince him to open gifts was puzzling for him at first but eventually he got the hang of it. Benjamin had a substantial amount of toys to drown in and naturally - the only thing he wanted to play with were non-toy items - such as candles, vacuum cleaner, and wii remotes. In fact, we even put a votive candle in his stocking just to appease his candle fascination. If you know Benjamin well - you will know that he tries to blow out unlit candles all day. It's our best distraction device during diaper change.

Nothing like toe socks to keep the little toes warm!

One toy we could do without - but he truly loves - is the noisemaker guitar. One way to drive us crazy is to listen to the same music/rhythm over and over and over and over and over........And, somehow the drone of this constant music just makes Benjamin want to play with it all the time. We must admit - we hide it from him just so we can get some peace. Note to self - no more annoying noisy toys. Now, we are not saying all noise maker toys are annoying - just this particular one.
We were so worn out from our exciting morning festivities - we all took Christmas naps. Later, we spent time with the neighbors and ate till we couldn't eat anymore. We successfully ate our weight in food - well, it felt that way.

A few days later - we did the routine again with Mom and Dad Guerrero, Uncle Mike, Aunt Ginger, and Cousin Lilly. The kids had a good time opening their gifts and playing with one another. It is so rewarding to see their eyes light up when they open their gifts. Elmo was a true hit. But, Benjamin wanted to play with Lilly's baby doll and Lilly wanted to play with Benjamin's cars.

On a personal note - Benjamin is very proud of his Grandma Guerrero and hopes she feels better soon and recovers well from a hard week of "illness".

We will write again this week (yes, 2 posts in 1 week!) to recap our 2008 year and bid farewell to another year of change, challenge, amazement, news, love, and much more.

Till next time (not week!)
