Our Clever Little Boss

We had a nice and relaxing week this past week. It's nice to slow down, pause, and soak in what life has to offer. In this case, puzzles, toys, and crackers were what Benjamin was offered.
Our boss, Benjamin now tells us what he wants to eat, drink, when he wants to go outside, when he wants to read, and when he wants to take a spin in his favorite push car. We were recently lead to the kitchen/the refrigerator for a snack request.

Furniture and chairs are pushed around so that monkey boy can stand on top to grab things on top of tables. This is the time when carpet sounds like a better option.

Bumps, bruises, scrapes are the trend in our home. Benjamin's tiny little legs are covered with curiosity “wounds”. Most of these battle scars come from climbing onto chairs.

Broken. Another theme in our house. Anything ceramic, glass, or breakable has a short life span in our house. It gets quite old cleaning up glass fragments off the floor. Sigh.

Squirmy – our child wiggles so much now – he has been in that “control” and very “stubborn” phase – he only likes to be held on his terms. He knows how to tell us "no", but somehow he just doesn't get it when we say "no" to him. Grr.

Hiding.
Things we have to hide/put away on a regular basis: telephone, cell phone, remote control, Wii remote, and keys. We are still searching for a lost set of keys (going on 2 weeks). Benjamin is NO fool when it comes to the telephone – he knows that when the battery is taken out that the phone is just not the same thus frustration ensues. Most of the time, we let him play with the phone with batteries - so if you ever get a phone call from us with no one on the other line..now you know why.


Election:
In case you all haven't heard – a historical election took place last week. Like the results or not – history was made. Benjamin's first presidential election was quite exciting. Imagine in 16 ½ years from now what things will be like when he can vote?
