When Ben finds something, he can make something as dull as sticky tape a pretty exciting adventure.
Mami was able to experience swim lessons from a different perspective since Papi was on vacation. It was so much fun to watch the boys. Benjamin got to do a new trick this past week. The instructor dunked him to the bottom (4 foot depth) for him to grab a colored ring. She pushed him down with a fast thrust, but that's quite a feat!
Toddler Time at the library...the librarian reads to kids 2 and under - imagine the attention span in that room? It's fun, nonetheless. Lots of energy is released and Benjamin always naps beautifully after a toddler time experience.
So, is this the cutest spider you have ever seen? We attended a Heights Kid Group Halloween Potluck at Woodland Park. Benjamin had a good time playing with chalk, staring at the costumes, and sliding down the slides. We could not keep him away from the playground. He really wasn't too into the trick or treating part (as expected).
Benjamin enjoyed a Gymboree music class. He listened to drums, played with tamborines, maracas, and loud music. Again, this was a good way to wear out our ball of energy.
Spanish class is a treat every week. We listen to music, play with puzzles, puppets, stuffed animals, dance to the beat, do crafts, and end with bubbles.
Nia Tots class is also a good way to entertain Benjamin. The usual experience is playing with shakers filled with rice, hiding under a big flat parachute, and this week's had a halloween theme so he dressed up in a hula skirt. Again, this class does wonders to tire our child (and Mami, too.)
And, finally - Halloween! We first attended the Proctor Plaza Park Fall Festival. Benjamin (along with his cousin Lilly) was entered in a costume contest but they had tough competition with a very cute butterfly, a blue monster, and a cute aerobics dancer outfit. However, we must say Benjamin and Lilly were the cutest contenders out there. (No spin zone, here). It was his first costume contest! Since, we have mentioned this time and time before - we must mention AGAIN - that his favorite trick was sliding down the slide. But, the clencher for Mami - is that he can do it all by himself, now. Sniff, sniff - he's all "growed" up.
We couldn't stay too long because we had to get home to pass out candy to large amounts of trick or treaters. We had clearly over a hundred candy-hungry kids this year. Benjamin was sound asleep and missed most of the action. Good thing because we had some scary sights:
It was funny to watch Benjamin grab a handful of candy, run away from us because he was afraid we would take the candy away from him, and then watch him play with the wrappers. He had no idea that those shiny, colorful wrappers were full of sugar bliss.
Till next week. Happy Voting tomorrow!
