Poop!

Benjamin likes to "cook" while Mami/Papi cook!

So, we had our first major hiccup over the weekend. We left the house without a diaper bag. Doh!

And, of course, Mami had just mentioned how Benjamin has pooped away from home only a handful of times. I know, too much information - but poop is what babies are all about (among other things). Anyway, back to the story - so we are shopping (taking advantage of the tax-free weekend) and well, the smell interrupted. We waited patiently for what felt like a LONG time until we found a couple pushing a stroller. We offered to pay for a diaper, but they were kind enough to give it to us free of charge. (Sisterhood/brotherhood of parenthood) We stuffed our little guy in a size 2 diaper and a disaster was averted. It made our shopping excursion a little interesting. But, we all survived. No more stink - and a happy baby makes happy parents. Of course, had we brought the diaper bag then no poop would have happened. Everytime we leave the house - it is with a "suitcase" of snacks, toys, clothes, diapers, etc.

Shortly after Benjamin was born, Mami joined a local group called the Heights Kids Group. This group is a wealth of information and resources. Mami has made friends with a few ladies and Benjamin meets and greets their children, too. So, we headed over to a playgroup a few blocks from our house. Benjamin had a great time at the playgroup hanging out with his buddies. Well, at this age - the kids tend to stare one another down, grab toys, then crying ensues, then the cycle continues. There may be 30 balls on the floor but naturally the kids want to play with what is in the other's hands. The lesson of sharing begins.

What can we say - we take a lot of photos with Benjamin in the water. He thoroughly enjoys his bath time and likes to color on the tub with his bathtub crayons.
Our little Einstein scribbling...note he is writing with his left hand.

Clapping after a diaper change. It feels good to be nice, clean, and dry.

So, Ben's latest changes:

Ben started swim lessons! He did great although he was a bit confused by all the newness. He liked to drink the water too much and he had a bit of separation anxiety when the instructor would grab him from his Mami. Other than that - he enjoyed watching the instructor blow bubbles, the toys, and learning to climb on the edge of the pool. He has 8 more weeks left of lessons - lets hope he learns how to hold his breath.

He dances when he hears music - he sort of shakes his top half of his body while holding onto his toys with a tight grip. Talk about pure sweet cuteness.

He waved bye to his Papi today! It was a moment of true bliss for his parents - we wore big smiles all morning long.

He has conversations with himself while playing. He has inflection and makes funny sounds when he talks.

He seems to be off his food strike this week. He had a bit of a strike for a couple of weeks. But who knows - now that this has been mentioned - tomorrow may bring another day of surprises. Well, it will bring suprises because every day with our little guy is something new.

Till next week.
