Little Benito...

Another week down. Benjamin is 10 weeks old today. This parenting "thing" is getting better for us. We feel more confident in what we are doing and aren't as confused. We have learned Benjamin's idiosyncrasies and understand his temperament and personality. (Not that I am saying we have it all down...it's just better for us now). We truly understand his cry patterns and what he is trying to convey when he "sings" his lungs out to us.

Benjamin slept 5 hours last night - We will always feel his sleep patterns are worthy of mentioning. He really is doing fantastic and we are extremely grateful.

Benjamin's progress for the 9th week of his life:

He is still gnawing on his fist. He did explore his thumb for about 10 seconds but just wasn't interested. He is not interested in his thumb or a binky as of yet. He just likes to eat (like his parents).

His cheeks are filling out..they are pinchable.

He has a "conversation" with us when he is in his talkative mood. He coos and grunts.

And his smile - we just cannot say enough about his smile.

He is getting stronger neck muscles every day. He turns his head and looks to the side quite often. He is still attracted to lights and bright colors. He is getting easier to hold in the sense that his neck doesn't need to be supported as much. But, he is getting tougher to hold because he is heavier. He is our daily arm workout.

To be able to sleep this peacefully...

Next week is Benjamin's appointment with the pediatrician. He will be getting his 2-month old shots - I need to prepare myself mentally for his "pain". I am sure it's nothing this proud dad cannot handle.
