9 weeks Old

Well, another week down.

Mini-Frank, I mean Benjamin, is still growing strong.

The new Benjamin facts are:

He has discovered his hands - he is just fascinated with them. He likes to stick them in his mouth and stare at them. He chews/sucks on his fist - it is cute and he can be loud when he does it.

He has started to grasp for things like blankets but doesn't hold on for long. He is figuring out that there are tangible items but he doesn't know what to do with them.

Drool is the new cool for him (not mom and dad). Oh and spit up has become the norm. We must have a burp cloth in reach for most of the time. It's funny how the drool and spit up do not faze him. Let's just say - changing clothes for mom/dad is a frequent occurrence.

He is growing out of his swing. He sure loves that swing. He loves to be rocked on the porch swing so we always have that after he finishes with the swing. Good thing he will not realize that we we will have to retire his swing when that day comes.

He slept 6 hours (for the 2nd time in his life) in his crib. Mom and dad were very happy to say the least. Let me repeat 6 HOURS. If you are not a parent - you don't know how beautiful 6 hours of sleep feels like after months of choppy sleep.

He coos when he talks to his hands or stares at something that interests him. The sound of his coo would make anyone say, "awww". Yes, I am being mushy.

And, well, we still melt with that smile of his. If his smile stays as cute as it is - he may always get his way.

Benjamin visited his cousin, Uncle Mike, and his grandparents over the weekend. His cousin Lily is almost 8 months old and she notices Benjamin whereas he isn't quite to that acknowledgment point. They hung out for a good 2 minutes - long enough to get this photo.
I think this picture sums up how Grandma feels about her grandkids:

And, I think this photo conveys how mom feels about her baby boy:

Ben's first Labor Day Holiday came and went and he seemed to enjoy his extra day off with his papi. Same can be said from papi. Frank keeps trying to convince Benjamin he loves him more than his mom...but that is up for debate. ;) Till Benjamin's new occurrences....
